Weekend Chat: Letterman, McCain, Lies & New Media
Don't know if you've seen this or not, but it's the David Letterman Show. Apparently Senator McCain canceled his appearance on his show, because he said that he needed to be in Washington, DC for the Senate National Economy Bailout Talks. However, Lettermen learned that McCain had ditched him for Katie Couric. And how did Letterman learn he was ditched for a better date?

Memory Patterson is too cold, selfish and conniving for me to care about in the beginning of this third installment to the Trinity Series. I am impressed that Griggs made this story simpler than the others. She focused on fewer cast members. She toned down the preachy spots. However, adding the genealogy and family sub-plot changed the tone of the series, and made it too busy.
Elaine Robertson has conned her way into the wrong home. When she is invited to stay with the Landris family she thinks she has hit the jackpot. What she doesn’t bargain on is that the Landris’s knew her true identity. Even worse, the Landris’s know all her secrets, including the one that has her on the run. Will she allow her own self-condemnation to keep her from a family legacy she has never known?
Johnnie Mae Landris is determined to take Memory to Asheville where her mother, Sarah Fleming lives. But pregnancy complications not only alter her plans, but her and her husband Pastor Landris’s future. How will God see them through this test?(Dafina, 312pp, $15.00)
