In October, online spending grew just 1%, its lowest rate since 2001, the Wall Street Journal reported. According to comScore, the biggest drop in sales online has been from "mid-to-lower income familes that make less than $50,000 a year." Bookstores New Book Order Reduction Problematic for Authors
In order for some bookstores to say in the black, they are opting to sell used and older books and relaxing on purchasing new books in early 2009. What will this mean for authors who have books coming out in early 2009? I recommend you talk with your publisher about assisting you with hosting book events.
