Okay. If you don't know. Girlee(my daughter) & I have planned  a Mommy/Daughter Summer Staycation this year for her summer vacation. We've been everywhere. Last Sunday we participated in The Great Cupcake Smackdown. The week before that she went to The Aquarium, The Atlanta Zoo and The Coke Museum via Girl Scouts of Atlanta, and that's just a bit of all we've done.

But this next thing is free for me, but depends all on you.

We want to end our Staycation by attending a fancy dinner at one of the top Atl restaurants. DiningOut Atlanta Magazine is offering a free $50 gift certificate, if we get 50 people to like their Facebook Page before anyone else.

Six years ago I began Christian Fiction Blog to spotlight books that we didn’t feature on our the newspaper and radio station I once worked for. As I began to share those authors with the blogosphere, I learned that more authors weren’t being featured across the country. They weren’t featured on radio, television, newspapers, or even bookstores. What shocked me most was Christian bookstores refused to stock these books and few Christian publishing houses had African-American authors. The more I learned; the more passionate I became about supporting these authors and dialoguing with the publishing industry and Christian readers about this issue.
Six years later I wonder have we made any strides.

J. Mark Bertrand has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Houston. After one hurricane too many, he left Houston and relocated with his wife Laurie to the plains of South Dakota.

Mark has been arrested for a crime he didn't commit, was the foreman of a hung jury in Houston, and after relocating served on the jury that acquitted Vinnie Jones of assault. Forgiveness

Sincerely asking God to let those who have

Total forgiveness is a choice. It is not a feeling—at least at first—but is rather an act of the will. It is the choice to tear up the record of wrongs we have been keeping. When we develop a lifestyle of total forgiveness, we learn to erase the wrong rather than file it away in our mental computer.

Total forgiveness must take place in the heart. Confidence toward God is ultimately what total forgiveness is all about; He is the One I want to please at the end of the day. He cares and knows whether I have truly and totally forgiven, and when I know I have His love and approval, I am one very happy and contented servant of Christ.4


Unforgiveness

Living with bitterness, anger, and self-pity because of what another did to hurt us



Bitterness and unforgiveness demonstrate an inward condition. It is an excessive desire for vengeance that comes from deep resentment. It heads the list of things that grieve the Spirit of God. It is one of the most frequent causes of people missing the grace of God.

This inward condition of unforgiveness will manifest itself in many ways—losing your temper, high blood pressure, irritability, sleeplessness, obsession with getting even, depression, isolation, a constant negative perspective, and generally feeling unwell.

We must, therefore, begin to get rid of a bitter and unforgiving spirit; otherwise, the attempt to forgive will fail.5





Forgiveness

Ask Yourself

Do I have resentment or bitterness in my heart because of something someone did to me or said about me? Do I lack inner peace?



Relinquishing bitterness is an open invitation for the Holy Spirit to give you His peace, His joy, and the knowledge of His will.

But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Unforgiveness

Ask Yourself

Are you praying for God’s blessings to rain on the lives of your offenders? Why not?



The desire to punish another is the opposite of perfect love and total forgiveness.



Remember

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.
