Atlanta was a test market for Tyler Perry's House of Payne, so I was prepared for some revisions of the show. Yet...
What's your two cents on it? Did you like it? Do you think you'll keep watching?

I watched both episodes last night and plan to continue to watch. I hope that the show will continue to get better with each episode but overall I still enjoyed it. The characters are funny and I'm interested in seeing where the story is headed.
did you see the test runs last year?
I found both shows to be boring and not very funny. I think the actors seemed more as if they were in a play than a television show. Since Atlanta was a test market last year as was NY, wasn't the Allan Payne character the son of the couple that he was staying with and with the new show, he's now the nephew. Am I confused?
yes. he was and they didn't have a second son
I was very disappointed in this show, I could not believe that Tyler Perry put his name to this after all the good movies and plays he has completed. It was soooo boring and the fake audience laughing began to irritate me when nothing was funny. Tyler get it together before they cancel you in July
I don't mean to be mean. However, I agree that it was not as interesting as I thought it would be. The writing was a little weak. My co-workers had the same reaction.
No you are not confused. One of my co-workers also stated that in the test market for NY the uncle and aunt played his parents.
Hopefully things will improve.
I did not see it. I had to spend the time writing but my daughter watched it. She said that it was just okay. I know that it got really high ratings though and ultimately in Hollywood, that is all they care about so kudos to Mr. Perry.
Okay, so I'm NOT crazy! I THOUGHT they were his parents in the test shows!! And that other guy who is now playing the son wasn't on the show at all. Its like they are redoing those first test shows that is leading up to the big reveal about the wife. If that is the case, then I can skip those first ten shows if they are just a remake of the original ten. Lastly, while I liked the test shows, then and especially now, the guy who plays the father/uncle just gets on my nerves with his ignorance.
I actually enjoyed the show last night. It was comical to me. I do agree that the acting isn't up to par with other shows but I am hoping that it will get better. I'll be watching again next week as well.
I loved it, had me sitting here experiences great big belly laughs
