Jesus Christ Superstar
January 14 - February 22, 2009
January 14 - February 22, 2009
Experience the hit musical as you never have before – as gospel choirs raise the roof off our Alliance. This new gospel version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score will be incorporated with new beat to classics like “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Everything’s Alright” and “Could We Start Again Please.” With the largest cast on the Alliance Stage since The Color Purple, this revolutionary celebration of life will leave you singing for days. Andrew Lloyd Webber himself has given special permission to develop this new interpretation of his work by Louis St. Louis, an experienced Broadway and film composer and music director (credits include Smokey Joe’s CafĂ©, Grease, Grease 2 and Mahogany) whose own musical roots spring from the Detroit Pentecostal Church. Jesus Christ Superstar GOSPEL will be a premiere event rediscovering and further enlivening this famous and beloved rock opera.
My friend, Chandra Currelley is cast in the play.
