Today author Sherri Lewis joined me on Media Candy's midweek/midday chat. We discussed the power of bookclubs and how authors can leverage their writing career using them. One thing Sherri said that stood out was how book clubs show the author themes and motifs about their book that they didn't see, but ministered to them.
Quick question to Christian faith writers, have a reader ministered to you threw your own writings?

That's a GREAT question Dee. It will be interesting to hear the answer to that one. I'll check back. I know how I have been ministered to.
It can be VERY powerful. It's so unexpected. Your guard is down when you read. That's what I love about Christian Fiction. How God uses it to touch the unexpecting soul.

Dee,
My sister was able to point out things in my novel that I didn't even think about. I think that's the wonderful thing about The Bible and about Christian Fiction, it meets all of us where we need to be met and what something means for one may be totally different for another. It's the work of the Holy Spirit that makes it relevant for us individually.
I have to admit, reader feedback and book club discussions are the things I so look forward to once my novel, Secrets and Lies is released in December.
Thanks,
Rhonda McKnight

I'm a Christian fiction writer. Every morning my husband and I pray that the work that takes place today will honor and glorify our Lord. It always happens! God takes the humanness in a situation and turns it for good in the story line. Many times it feels like He is writing it, and not me.
