As an author who is also a Christian but writes stories that appeal to all readers (general market and yes Christians)I would like to point out that each of these authors, with perhaps the exception of perhaps one, are published by those who serve a very specific, very targeted denominational audience.
Therefore these books aren't representative of the best Christian Fiction out there but rather the best of what denominationaly targeted CBA/ECPA affiliated publishers have to offer. Again with the exception of perhaps one publisher--maybe two.
Hi, Sue! Glad you stopped by.
The purpose of the INSPYs is to highlight the best literature that grapples with expressions of Christian faith. To be considered books did not have to be published under the CBA. The Christys, which I have also been privileged to be a judge for a number of years, spotlights the best in CBA/ECPA.
Moreover, anyone could nominate your books unlike other awards programs, whereby the publisher must pay a fee to be considered. Bloggers nominated these books. The advisory board selects the short list based on the nominations.

In my opinion based on the category I'm judging and the books I've reviewed this year and spotlighted on the blog I understand how the five made this year's shortlist.
I think the people that if some kind of prize to a book, it will be all over the world, you can buy. Unfortunately it is not. In Hungary, half of the book can not be obtained. Yet few would be interested. I watched most of the shops, but if there is not available, it is nowhere (www.konyv-konyvek.hu).
