Love the poster. Whoever did it, Kudos to you. Hilarity.
On the flip: Best quote of the day.
“Can I be candid?” he asks before turning to face the audience directly. “I don’t like all of Tyler Perry’s films. Yes, I did work with Tyler for “Daddy’s Little Girls” because it portrayed a positive image of a black father. I am happy for Tyler’s success…we need Tyler Perry…by going to support his movies, we need to show economic strength. But we are also responsible for elevating film. I’m not with buffoonish characters like Madea or Big Momma.”

why can't some people enjoy comedy with out getting so dog gone serious. then when he make a serious film everyone still got crap to talk about. he's be darn to do and be darn to don't. most of his shows are clean comedy. just for laughs, why can't we enjoy his work as comedy like it is. I see so much we as a people should be challenging yet everyone wants to talk about a comedy show. whateva!!
hi, carol. thanks for your comment.
i won't defend idris statement, but i will share my point of view. comedy isn't debasing african american women. there is history in american film history of the dehumanization of black women that have gone on long before Big Mama and Madea. What is more troubling is that those images have now shaped african american women psyche. who we are and how we define ourselves, even why we should defend ourselves is now tainted.
black women treated as comic props is serious. i am raising a daughter. she is not entertainment.
