Meet the Browns on Blu-Ray

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the Tyler Perry comedy 'Meet the Browns' to Blu-ray on July 1st, day-and-date with the DVD release. No technical specs have been announced at this time. Extras include four featurettes shared with the DVD release, along with three additional featurettes exclusive to the Blu-ray release. The Blu-ray will also include a standard definition digital copy of the film.

How Do you Include Worship in Your Work?

Cinco de Mayo! This month Christian Fiction's 1Question interview series is about Worship. The question is: How do you include worship in your work. Each day I will share how my writing friends have accomplished this, with hopes that you will share as well. Today's spotlight is Alvin Romer of The Romer Review.

Worship is an integral part of my life, and it starts at the beginning of my day with family devotion and involving the Lord in my activities with prayer. I have a relationship with Him, and I’ve long ago made my election and calling surest with allowing Him to be my friend and Protector just like that brother who sticketh closest!

The Romer Review is published quarterly and each issue includes feature articles, book reviews, interviews, and literary commentary.

3 Steps toward Including Worship in Your Writing

If this[worship] had been male-female communication, words would have stopped and touch would begin. How natural.But how does the created connect with the Creator?- Amy Grant, Mosaic, Pieces of My Life so Far

Every moment I'm awake I'm either praying, or thinking about my stories,or both.

When I first made this revelation I was concerned. DivaMamaChicas like myself crave solace, peace...quiet time, not constant mind chatter. So I began doing yoga with hopes that my breath-body-links would peace me still. Instead I prayed through Warrior One Pose. My characters began talking to themselves during Harvest-Moon sequence. My stories and my prayers got louder, flowed threw each breath, and began to teach me something about God and myself.

For the Master's Artist worship is writing. Even further, every art form and everything we do are worship.

Now whether we're worshipping God or Dee Stewart is the thing that separates Good writing from soul unquenching stories.

Weekend Chatterbox: Is BEA Worth the Trip?

Last week Thomas Nelson Publishers announced that they would not attend this year's Book Expo America (BEA.) However, my email has been blowing up with roommate requests, the African American Pavilion and meetup announcements. So I wonder is BEA worth the trip for AA writers, especially Christian fiction writers?

How an Online Conference Works: An online-conference is a conference hosted on the Internet. Participants can attend without leaving the comfort of their home.

Who it is for: This conference is for anyone who is writing fiction or thinking about writing. It’s also for those published authors who would like to learn more about the craft of writing to improve your skills or take advantage of our industry professionals who will discuss tips on getting a book review, marketing, networking and the advantages of a virtual tour.

How You Will Participate: You register for the conference by visiting emailing your request here. A few days before the conference will receive instructions on how to enter the main site for the conference. On the day of the conference, the workshops are presented in the forms of articles that are posted on the conference site by the presenter. Participants will review the material and post follow-up questions or comments in a threaded discussion format. At some point in the afternoon or perhaps several times during the day, the presenter will come into the forum and answer all the questions. Additionally, each presenter will hold a live chat for 45 minutes to an hour where they will talk with participants. This is another opportunity to have your questions answered or just have an opportunity to speak with one of your favorite authors.

Door prize: All registered participants who are interested will be entered in a raffle to win a 10-page critique from one of our bestselling authors!
