I must be honest. I am a big human rights supporter. I believe and I see poverty right here in Suwanee, Georgia. But I did not think that the Live 8 Concert this week was beneficial. Now maybe, because I didn't sit through it all, but outside of signing a petition ot send to George Bush what else did the promoters tell us to do? Moreover, what are they doing to fight poverty in Africa themselves? I hope more than just singing.
But if you agree that poverty in the world is an issue(and it's not fair to blame America for it,) there is a nice site that links organizations that have been fighting poverty all of the world. And if you're poor like me, their are local organizations you can donate your clothes, books, food, too. American Red Cross and United Way to name a few. I don't have a concert for you, but you can click on the Luther Vandross link and listen to some nice snippets to get you in the mood to fight poverty. And Madonna won't give you the finger in the process(how rude.)
