Today I received a question from a reader. The question: So if Tyler Perry's marriage counselor show is being advertised on Christian Fiction, can I assume there is no bad language in this show?
I answered the question
here. but I thought I should extend this discussion to the CFB
Mybloglog Crew,
Christian Fiction Network, my
MySpace Friends and readers here at CFB as our Weekend Chat.
Do you think a play, movie or book can be be Christian and contain profanity? You can respond anonymously, if you wish.

I think sometimes Christians put themselves in a perfect little box and forget what real life is really all about. If this is a play depicting REAL life, of people going through REAL struggles than I would expect some profanity. I'm sure it can be toned down, so as not to over state the obvious but people need to stop sitting in the ivory tower like they were born perfect.
Christians should strive to be like Christ in all things, but the reality is that God is still working on a lot of us. If we were perfect than we wouldn't need Christ now would we??
Blessings!
Don't use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your wors will be an encouragement to hose who hear them. -God
Ephesians 4:29 (NLT)
If cursing among "Christians" is acceptable, then, what other implied commandments, are acceptable to be broken?
yeah, check out Corinthians. We should strive to be like Christ and not making an exscuse such as "we are not perfect" well, if you don't try then you've failed yourself. I stopped cussing almost 2 years now and if a Christian can't stop cussing they have to take an inventory of themselves...and I'm sorry, Christ is real life so I don't know what Regina is on about.
Thanks, Geo for your comment.
While I'm not taking Regina or your side I want to remind everyone that this conversation needs to follow Christ's Creed:
1. put God first
2. treat other's like you want to be treated.
so let's stay clear of name calling or judgemental attitude.
thank you.
regina, anon, and geo also read the blog I have posted my response to this question.
I consider myself a Christian, and when I am being persecuted I want to use the language familiar to my emotions.... so I am struggling because I REALLY want to let this stuff out and this is the only language that fits my exact emotions@%$ :) lol (sort of)
... Not to be argumentative, but for a while I've wondered why certain words are considered "Bad"?
"all things are clean for clean persons"- bible
...or maybe the root is the bitterness...
