Today's Weekend Chatterbox is about novels becoming books.
Bishop TD Jakes second novel turned movie, What's Easily Broken is about to hit a theater near you January 9, 2009. Although I didn't give the novel a favorable review, I wonder is the story better suited for cinema.
Question: What is your favorite movie adaptation of a novel and why do you think it worked?

Can't think of a Christian book that was adpated well. My favorite would be Disappearing Acts by Terry McMillian. The movie was good because the script was good and the acting was great. Good music, too. Loved it.
I liked Disappearing Acts, too. Wesley Snipes made me so mad.
The only Christian books I thought were done really well were The Lord of the Ring Trilogy. Those movies were pitch perfect and so were the novels.
I haven't read the book or seen the movie, I look forward to watching it.
I can say, it's wonderful that movies are being made with the responsibility of displaying that there's more than drugs, violence and disfunction in the AA community.
