Today Daren at Problogger spoke about the potential for blogs to earn revenue:
The reality is that most bloggers never sell their blog for millions…. in fact most bloggers don’t even come close to a full time living from bloggingMy response to the post and Daren's great graph is below and on Twitter, and I also have a question for you. Read below...
Blogging does have the potential to make money if you hand around and think long term. I also believe that Passion has a lot to do with it, too.
When a blogger is passionate about their blogging theme or topic they will continue to make the blog better, add better content, upgrade it if you will. While other bloggers fall away because they lose faith or they began blogging for the wrong reasons(no passion for the platform and the theme) you increase in value. There are so many book blogs that have shut down since I began. I still remain. I receive speaking invitations, business ventures that incorporate the blog and so much more, so my blogging income has increased over time.
But to be honest. I would write Christian Fiction Blog for free, as I did in the beginning and that is my mindset.
I love my blog. Don't you?

Hey, Dee, this has nothing to do with your post, but I thought this PW article was interesting and wondered if you'd seen it yet.
The attitude/mindset that you bring to anything will have a direct influence on the output you produce. I believe a lot of people have had to sacrifice the love for what they do because they become more concern about paying the next bill than finding enjoyment in what they do. Money is far from every thing. However, the need for it becomes more apparent when the times for it gets right up in your face. Consequently, many are forced to realize that the billing collection agencies don't show sympathy for the passion you have for what you love doing for free. To be continued.....
I love writing, which is why I choose to write on blogger. I do want to make money off of it (eventually) but I guess at this point the money issue is not my prime concern, but getting better at my skills. I do believe you have to have passion at anything you do. Great post.
